“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” -Luke 11:13

It's been a long several weeks now,
Ol' Man Winter tossed his frost 'bout
For one last deep freeze to wow
All who wished for Spring were in doubt.
But Sun's ball of fire won out, beckonin' earth
Inviting all buds n' sprouts to pop and mill.
To our delight, Dogwood exploded into birth
Dressin' the woods and valleys with lacey fill.
Green finery yet to be seen, timid and in fear
Allowed Redbud, Tulips, Crocus, Buttercups, and grass
To be the spotlight of beauty, teasing out the deer
Mother Nature had to have the last laugh, that ol' lass!
Bitter cold replaced the warmth on our face
Hats and scarves, umbrellas, too, brought back out
Heaters and fireplaces all ablaze, shadows anxious in pace
Annoyed we were, another Dogwood Winter, no doubt.
