Easter Celebration
The sleeping world awakens, Spring comes to field and fold, All nature's bathed in sunlight As the earth spills out her gold. Blossoms scent in morning air; The skies are warm and clear; Hearts are filled with promise, Now Easter Time draws near. It's time for new beginnings When faith can be restored, Joy and peace fill every heart Who hail the risen Lord. © Marian Jones My heart was full of sorrow So I climbed a mountain high.

GOD'S PEACE ON THE MOUNTAINS
I looked down on God's creation Then threw my worries to the sky. Higher and higher they drifted Through the endless space: I prayed that God would take them, These problems I couldn't face. I knew that He would guide me If I put my trust in Him, I needed clearer vision For my eyes were growing dim. In the tranquil mountain air I felt my worries cease God must have heard my cries For my heart was filled with peace. © Marian Jones ~ 2004 1/26/24, 1:42 PM Judy's Realm of Sunshine and Smiles - Inspirational Treasures by Marian Jones

BE STILL
Be still and quietly listen To a voice that's always there, God promised not to leave us, So draw close to Him in prayer. Let go of fleeting thoughts That clutter up your mind, For in His loving presence True wisdom you will find. Be still and lean on Him, Your worries all will cease, For his everlasting love, Will bring eternal peace. © Marian Jones ~ 2002

WHEN GOD DRAWS CLOSE

In the still hours of the night, When all the world is sleeping, Many souls are in despair ~ In the darkness softly weeping.
Some are gripped by loneliness, Missing loved ones gone. Life doesn't seem worth living. It's a struggle to carry on. Others are fighting harsh pain, Crying out for relief. They try to keep on praying. But, it's hard to hold on to belief. Yet, it's in the darkest hours, Until the morning light. God draws close, to those who suffer, In the stillness of the night. He longs to give them comfort, Take every pain away, Enfolds them in His loving arms 'Til the night turns into day. © 2004 ~ Marian Jones 1/26/24, 1:42 PM

MEMORIES
Precious, tender memories can comfort us in sorrow Giving us a reason, to look towards tomorrow. We can recall a word or deed from an unexpected source, That helped uplift our spirits as we travelled on life's course. So never dwell on troubles, of a cross you had to bear, Search deep within your heart and find sweet memories there. Life is just a mixture of sunshine with some rain, But memories of sunny days are the ones that should remain. © Marian Jones ~ 2002

ONE CHANCE
 If I could have one chance To be with you again, I'd fill your world with sunshine, Take away your pain. It's only now with hindsight, I realise your worth, So I'd worship and adore you For all our time on earth. If I could have a chance Forgiveness I would plead, For all the hurt I caused you I'd fulfil your every need. This chance that I am seeking, From pride I will retreat, For just to have you in my arms Would make my life complete. © Marian Jones ~ 2002

A CARING HEART
Walk through life with a caring heart, You'll always find someone in need; Go out of your way to help, And you will be blessed by the deed. For all life's blessings are born, From a heart that's filled with love, And all your good acts are seen By the eyes of God above. So as you travel through life Always find some time to spare, To give someone a helping hand, With a heart that is full of care. © Marian Jones ~ 2002

THE LITTLE THINGS
Thank you God for little things That bring much joy our way, Like a sudden burst of sunshine Cleansing a sky of grey A kindness from a stranger, Children's laughter as they play; There are so many little things That brighten up each day. Things we take for granted, Like someone's thoughtful deed: A perfect flower unfolding Amidst a patch of weeds. So at the end of every day When we turn to God and pray Let's thank Him for the little things, He loves to send our way. © Marian Jones ~ 2002

THE SUNFLOWER
 It stands in the garden border, So elegant and tall, The lovely yellow sunflower, The happiest flower of all. It loves to hold its head high Towards the Heavens above, For it knows that God is watching And tending it with love. A lesson can be learned From this gracious yellow flower, It doesn't question how it grows, But trusts God's wondrous power. © Marian Jones ~ 2002

SOUL JOURNEY

Beautiful are memories
of a moonlit night with you,
the spark of love rekindled
when all the world was new.

My heart told me I'd known you
in times so long ago,
for something deep inside
had set my soul aglow.

As I looked into your eyes
I knew you felt it too,
the longing grew between us
just like it used to do.

You took my hand in yours
I felt a burning flame,
such a familiar feeling
I knew from whence it came.

Inside my spirit soared
to heights that once we knew
and through the mists of time,
I recalled my love for you.

Soul mates re-united,
bound by ties of past,
through each and every age
this perfect love would last.

So at our journey's end
when the time has come to part,
somewhere a silver cord
will link us heart to heart.

GODS LAW

In a world that's filled with trouble,
There seems no place to go
To escape from all the problems,
When life has dealt us a blow.

Perhaps, there's a secret garden
Where only peace can grow,
A place to find some solace,
A seed of hope to sow ...

A place where we can discover
What is here for every man.
Is our life just a passing moment,
Or are we part of a greater plan?

If we search the whole world over,
Will we find the garden one day?
Or, have we become blind to the fact
That it may not be far away.

Tonight, as I knelt in prayer,
I asked for the reason for life.
Where is a place we can go
To escape all the trouble and strife?

There, in my heart, was the answer.
It was placed there a long time ago.
The Kingdom of God is within us.
That's where our spirit can grow.

We can turn from the world, for a while,
And look in our hearts to explore
The promise He made to us all.
We'll find peace if we follow God's Law.

ELLY ROSE
God sent me a special person,
With a beauty beyond compare,
A gentle smile and a caring heart
And so much compassion to share.

She's the precious love of my son Troy,
Her nature's so sweet and kind,
When I asked God for someone special,
He had Elly Rose in mind.

He then sent another blessing,
A grandchild He promised to me,
Now Elly has given me Joshua,
A grandson as dear as can be.

I love her just like a daughter,
On her we can all depend,
She's made our family complete,
Elly Rose my wonderful friend.

Resting Place

It's a quiet and tranquil place
 and this is where you lie.
In the silence I hear your voice,
see your face in the clear blue sky.

It seems so wrong that you are here,
and  yet it had to be;
Your time on earth was over,
You left this world and me.

I can't help feeling cheated,
You were too young to die,
But one day I'll come to you
And understand the reason why.

Until that time has come,
I'll tend your place with care,
I'll cover it with flowers
and know you'll see them there.

You always said I cared for you
In good times and in bad,
And I'll go on as before
Although my heart's so sad.

Yet there is some comfort
from tending to your grave.
I feel your love surround me here,
A strength that keeps me brave.

Although your body's resting,
I know your spirit's free.
I sense you watching from above
And caring still for me.

So when my life is over,
I'll join you where you lie,
And then we'll be as one again,
Two soul mates in the sky.

God Bless You

God Bless You Today

May God bless your life today,
With so many beautiful things:
Sunshine, love and laughter;
The joy that friends can bring.

With happy thoughts and smiles
And nothing to bring you tears;
I pray for no-one to hurt you
Or cause you to have any fears.

For when the day has ended
And long shadows softly creep;
I pray that God will bless you
With a night of peaceful sleep.

First Love

First Love

I wonder where you are now
First love of long ago?
Do you ever think about me;
Do sweet memories flow?

If by chance we met again,
Would we feel the same?
Or have the passing years
Extinguished love's old flame?

Could our love have lasted,
I often question why?
For I can't recall a quarrel
Before we said goodbye.

I wish I could remember;
Bring all the past to mind.
Though best that I forget you now;
Leave memories behind.

So many years have slipped away;
Different roads we've traveled too,
Yet sometimes in my sleep
I share sweet dreams with you.

I wake up in the morning;
Your presence seems so real.
Then I travel back in time,
Recalling how I used to feel.

Goodbye for Now

Mother's Love
~~ A Mother's Love ~~ A mother's love is special A love beyond compare It's patient and forgiving, Non-judgemental, always fair. Tender warm and caring, As no other love could be, It sparkles like a diamond For all the world to see. At the start of all creation, God made a love of gold, He placed it in a mother's heart Its beauty to behold. © Marian Jones 2002

Mother's Hands
MOTHER'S HANDS Hands that rocked the cradle From the moment of my birth, Their tender touch remembered By those still on this earth. Soft as silk those hands That taught me how to pray; Banishing childhood fears, They soothed each one away. When I grew much older And troubles came my way, 1/26/24, 2:20 PM

 Those hands caressing mine Did more than words could say. Mother's hands were gentle, They're missed so very much, I'd give the world to feel once more Their warm and loving touch. Those hands were full of comfort, Now they lie at rest, But memory holds them close To the ones they served the best. © Marian Jones Please respect author copyright Do not use or copy poetry without first seeking permission from the author

Memory Lane
~~ Memory Lane ~~  There is a place in every heart, They call it Memory Lane, Where thoughts of loved ones lost Forever will remain. God made this special place When He first created man, For He knew it would be needed, As part of our life's plan. He knew when loved ones left us, We'd need some time to heal, To come to terms with sorrow And the loneliness we'd feel. So when you lose a loved one And your life is filled with pain, The comfort of their presence Will be found in Memory Lane. © Marian Jones 2002

Angel of Comfort

Nightfall
~~ Nightfall ~~ I sit and watch from my window as the stars come out at night, Sparkling against a black velvet sky filling the world with light. I sit and watch, and I wonder how can this miracle be? The light from the sun has gone then this magic performance we see. Somewhere high in the Heavens Gods hand is changing the view. I bow to His mighty power the wondrous things He can do. I sit and watch from my window, God's beautiful work I survey; My soul is touched by His presence when night welcomes the end of the day. © Marian Jones 2002

Always With You

Remember
~~ Remember ~~ Remember me with a smile Now my life on this earth is done. My dreams have all been fulfilled And a new life has just begun. Remember me with a smile When grief may cause you to weep. One day we will laugh once again When our Heavenly meeting we keep. Let's be thankful we shared precious love, Keep the memories warm for a while, Let them bring peace to your heart And remember me - with a smile. © Marian Jones 2002

Angel
~~ Angel ~~ I felt an angel's presence On the day you left my side: A gentle touch upon my cheek, To wipe the tears I cried.  I seemed to hear her whisper, "Your loved one's in God's care. Just turn your eyes to Heaven And know he's resting there." Her presence brought me comfort. It was as if she knew My faith in God was tested, On the day that I lost you. The years have swiftly passed. Yet, still, I sense her near And know, whatever comes my way, She'll help me through each fear. God never leaves us helpless, As along life's path we roam: An angel always comes our way To guide us gently home. © 2002 by Marian Jones

~~ Through the Eyes of Love ~~ Let me see the sunrise, On a morning just like this: Let me feel the strength of you, The softness of your kiss. Let me see a rainbow Arched across the stormy sky, While you whisper words of love Like a gentle lullaby.
 Let me see the sunset At the ending of each day, And when night shadows fall, The stars will light our way It's through the eyes of love, I see beauty everywhere. And my greatest happiness Is in the special love we share. © 2002 Marian Jones

Spirit of Christmas

by Marian Jones

On this Christmas morning
Let thoughts of peace prevail,
As holy bells are ringing,
Across the hills and dales.

As we celebrate the birth
Of our Saviour and our King,
Let us live in harmony
Seeing good in everything.

When festivities have ended,
And the memories fade away,
Let peace remain within each heart
As it did on Christmas Day.

~~ Wasted Dreams ~~ I dream of the touch of your lips, Your fingers caressing my cheek, Your strong arms holding me close Making my body feel weak. I dream of a field full of flowers Where once we made love in the sun, The memory still lingers within me It's as if life has just begun. The dream seems to go on forever, Our bodies becoming entwined, Two hearts are beating as one, I'm in Heaven and it's so divine. How quickly I wake from my sleep And remember you're no longer here, The love that we shared is over And I shed the first morning tear. Maybe soon this heartache will ease And I'll find a new lover one day, Then at last I'll forgive you for leaving And wasted dreams will all fade away. © Marian Jones ~ 2001
~~ Guardian Angel ~~ On the day that we are born an angel comes to earth; She lingers for awhile until the timing of our birth; Then gracefully she flies on angel wings so light And goes back up to Heaven, to return to us each night. So as we live our lives and each day is at its end, Remember your special angel from Heaven she'll descend. She'll watch you as you sleep and meet with you in dreams, She's the guardian of the night, flown down on moonlight beams. So when you lay your head to rest, she'll stay until the morn, Protecting you as promised on the day that you were born. © Marian Jones ~ 2002
~~ Dream ~~ There is no better place to dream, Than a little cottage by a stream, With a garden full of hollyhocks, Snow white lilies and scented stocks. The sound of water trickling here, Is pleasant music to the ear. The birds are singing in the trees, Branches swaying in the breeze, It's here that all your worries cease A place where there is quiet peace, A time for stillness and reflection, On our God and His perfection. So when the pace of life gets fast, And your worries seem too vast, Picture the cottage by the stream, Close your eyes and build a dream. © Marian Jones ~ 2002
~~ Angel Whispers ~~ Last night I had a dream when an angel I did see, She took my hand in hers and whispered "follow me". I flew with her to Heaven on wings of purest white, We danced amidst the stars that sparkled in the night. On the pathway to the moon, I looked down upon the earth And suddenly remembered, the moment of my birth. The angel looked at me, her lips curved in a smile, Knowing I'd recalled, she'd walked with me each mile. She was my special angel; God's creation just for me, To guide me in my life, and through eternity I didn't want to leave her, as we stood in heavenly bliss, But she whispered her goodbye and departed with a kiss. Awaking in the morning, warm sunshine stroked my face Had I just dreamt of my angel, or was it real - that heavenly place? I felt such peace within me, it seemed so very clear, Then I swear I heard her whisper, "You know I'm always here". © Marian Jones ~ 2002
~~ Encounter ~~ So splendid in his uniform He stood there full of pride, My heart was skipping beats, As I lingered by his side. I was so aware of his presence Although we'd not really met, Just an encounter on a station With a stranger I'd never  forget. Such an incredible feeling, I had for this soldier so proud, Yet not one word was spoken, As we stood there in the crowd. The train drew into the station, Rushing we were swept apart, Yet the vision will stay in my mind A memory etched in my heart. It's hard to explain just why We can be aware of a single face, Maybe fate will draw us together again, Another time, in another place. © Marian Jones ~ 2002
~~ God's Presence ~~ I see you in the evening and the darkness of the night. You're with me in the morning, when all the world is bright. I feel you in a breeze, like a tender warm embrace; I feel you when a snowflake falls softly on my face. I hear you when it thunders and the world seems at an end; I hear you whisper softly, 'Don't fear I am your friend'. I hear you in a bird song the humming of the bees. Your voice is strong and vibrant in the waves of stormy seas. I see, I feel, I hear you, you're there in all I do, guiding and protecting, until my life is through. © Marian Jones ~ 2002
~~ A WILLING HEART ~~ My heart is always willing Lord, To serve You each new day; To let Your light shine through me,  As I walk along life's way. Give me words of wisdom, To comfort those in need, Let them see my love for You; Feel Your presence in my deed. As You guide me every day Help me always to be kind. And, when the day is over, I'll have true peace of mind. My heart is always willing Lord, To serve with strength and grace, And pray, when life has ended I will see Your Heavenly face. © Marian Jones ~ 2003
~~ Friendship ~~ True friendship is a gift Shared by hearts that care; As you travel on life's road, A true friend is always there. When happiness eludes you And everything goes wrong, She'll walk with you each mile Though the road is hard and long. Then when the storm clouds pass; The sun comes out once more. She'll celebrate your joy; She knows what friends are for. It is a gift from God To have a friend that's true, Who walks along life's path Sharing each step with you. © Marian Jones ~ 2002
There is a secret place
Within the heart of me
Where thoughts of you return
Like haunting melodies.

The voice I loved, now still,
Is whispering inside,
It stirs fond memories
Which in my heart reside.

Old feelings spring to life;
It is as if you're near,
Speaking words of comfort
"Remember I'm still here".

I know it is a dream,
My heart so loves this song;
Souvenirs I store away
In the place where they belong.

© Marian Jones 2003
STILL HERE

Today I knew you were lonely,
I was watching while you cried;
I wanted to reach out and touch you,
Let you know I was by your side.

It hurts me to see you grieving,
For I know you can't understand.
If only just for one moment,
You could feel the touch of my hand.

Beyond the veil that divides us
I'm only a heartbeat away;
Though my life on earth is over
I am walking beside you each day.

As the sun rises in the morning,
I can still share the beauty with you,
Here in my heavenly home,
I see from a different view.

I hear your sighs in the evening
When a myriad of stars are aglow;
I sense that you are remembering,
The love that we shared long ago.

Tonight when sleep beckons you
In dreams you'll sense me draw near.
When the sun rises in the morning,
Remember my love I'm still here.
